He’s one of the top strikers in England — Ralf Rangnick reserves praise for one Manchester United player after his performance against West Ham
Ralf Rangnick has hailed Marcus Rashford as one of the top strikers in the Premier League, after his cameo against West Ham on Saturday.
Rashford scored a late winner from a blistering Man United counterattack, to hand United all three points at Old Trafford, with both Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial involved in the build-up.
It was the forward’s second goal in as many games for United, after his strike against Brentford in midweek, and Rangnick is hopeful his wonderful turn of form will continue.
“Marcus is one of the top strikers in England and has everything you need for a modern forward —pace, skills, size and physicality,” said the 63 year old.
“In the end it is all about confidence and I am pretty sure those two goals will have raised his confidence.
“It’s now about him taking the right steps and continuing. I think he will play an important role for the rest of the season.
“To say I was convinced we would score in the last minute is unrealistic but we took all the risks in the world and deserved it.
“I don’t know how long Fergie-time was. Five minutes? I would like more games like Brentford when you are leading 3-0 but the advantage of scoring in the last seconds is that it doesn’t give the opposition time to score.”
