Atletico Madrid star banned from playing against Manchester United in the Champions League
Manchester United will take on Spanish champions Atletico Madrid in the last-16 of the Champions League.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Yannick Carrasco has been banned from facing Manchester United when both sides meet in the Champions League.
According to Spanish publication Marca, UEFA has ruled that Carrasco be banned for three games after grabbing Otavio by the throat and throwing him to the ground.
Following his suspension by UEFA, the Belgium international will miss both legs against Manchester United in the Champions League round of 16.
Carrasco will be a big miss for the Spanish champions as he is a key player for them after starting all their Champions League games in the group stage.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will be hoping to progress to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2019. The Red Devils have progressed to the quarter-finals of the Champions League just twice since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
