Manchester United are not giving Mason Greenwood assistance with a legal counsel, after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting and raping his girlfriend, according to The Athletic.

The 22-year-old model posted damning evidence of Greenwood’s horrible actions on social media on Sunday, leading to the Man United star being immediately locked behind bars.

Greenwood was detained in police custody and was forced to arrange his own representation in the ongoing case. The enquiries are taking place at the moment as detectives look to get to the bottom of things.

Meanwhile, both Nike and Man United recently issued statements about the scandal surrounding the forward.

The Sportswear giants have dissociated itself from him, with United reaffirming their earlier decision that he isn’t allowed anywhere near training or playing for the club for now.
