Contract of Manchester United player cancelled
Sportswear manufacturer Nike have cancelled their contract with Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood after he was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault.
A Nike spokesperson told The Athletic: “Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete.”
Nike have already suspended all advertisements involving the England international and will no longer be his sponsors.
The Englishman remains indefinitely suspended by Manchester United as well and will not be allowed to take part in any training or match activity.
Although he has been granted bail, Greenwood has refused to respond to his allegations so far and the Greater Manchester Police are still investigating the case.
