Explained: Why Mason Greenwood could return to Manchester United soon
Mason Greenwood is in line to return to Manchester United by as soon as next week, according to reports.
The 20 year old, if you recall, was suspended about a week ago, following accusations of domestic violence and rape by his girlfriend, Harriet Robson.
A statement from United read, “Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice.”
However, The Athletic reports that Greenwood may be back in action sooner than later, due to a Premier League policy.
Clubs in the English top flight are only allowed to suspend players for two weeks with full pay, which means Greenwood may well return to action next week if he so wishes.
However, given the sensitive nature of the case against the England International, it is unlikely he would make a return just yet.
United are also unlikely to allow the star anywhere near the first team for as long as the investigations into the allegations against him carry on.
