Ronaldo reacts after he was criticised for storming out of the pitch following Burnley draw
Cristiano Ronaldo has responded in kind, after receiving harsh criticisms in the wake of Manchester United’s draw against Burnley on Tuesday.
The Red Devils played out a 1-1 draw against the relegation-threatened team, and slipped down the Premier League table, after West Ham won their game against Watford.
After the game, Ronaldo angrily left the pitch, and unlike his teammates, didn’t bother to appreciate the fans for their support.
The behaviour didn’t go down well with many, who didn’t hold back in criticising the Portugese, but it appears he has realised his wrongdoing, and is apologising for it now.
Taking to his instagram the 37 year old wrote, “Children are and will always be the best thing the world has to offer, and we must protect them at all costs. Supporters are and will always be the best in football, and we must respect everything they face and endure for their clubs.”
Along with his tweet, Ronaldo also posted a picture of him interacting with a young fan who is battling cancer.
Meanwhile, the forward is still without a goal in 2022 (0 in five games)— his longest run in club football since 2010.
