‘What do these players want?’ — Former Chelsea star blames Manchester United players for sacking Mourinho
Former Premier League star, Joe Cole, has slammed Manchester United players for putting on appalling performances this season, and accused them of getting coaches sacked.
United currently sit in fifth place, after failing to beat Burnley on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils had gone ahead to an 18th minute goal by Paul Pogba, but a lack of hunger, mixed with some poor defending led to the Clarets equalising in the second half of the game.
The result comes amid a myriad of issues currently beguiling Man United, with reports of a dressing room unrest emerging in recent weeks.
However, Cole seems to believe that most the blame lies at the feet of the players, who according to him, haven’t stepped up enough.
He told JOE: “The players got Jose sacked, Ole seems like the perfect man manager, a nice guy. You’ve gone from Jose to Ole… what do this group of players want?
“And now you hear mutterings that they’re not happy with Rangnick. The players need to look in the mirror. You’re Manchester United players but they’re not performing like it.”
Following the 1-1 draw against Burnley, Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways when they play host to Southampton this weekend.
