Ronaldo sends message to doubters after scoring against Brighton
Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a subliminal message to his doubters, after scoring in Manchester United’s 2-0 win against Brighton on Tuesday.
The Portugal International hadn’t scored for Man United in six games, with his last goal coming in the 3-1 win over Burnley back in December.
The forward however ended his drought in some style, firing in an unstoppable shot to the top right of Brighton’s net to hand United the lead, before Bruno Fernandes added a second toward the end of the game.
Prior to the game, there had been some uncertainty over Ronaldo’s future, with some criticising his contributions to Man United, but the 36 year old wasted no time to remind his critics that he pays no mind to them.
He tweeted after the Brighton win: “Back on track! Nobody gives up and there’s only one way to get back on track: hard work, team work, serious work.”
Meanwhile, recent reports have suggested that Ronaldo is open to extending his stay at Old Trafford, as long as Manchester United qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
