‘A few bits and bobs here and there’ -Watford goalkeeper mocks Manchester United after 22 goal attempts
Ben Foster has praised his Watford teammates for their resilience during the goalless draw against Manchester United last weekend.
The Watford goalkeeper was outstanding during the game, denying our players from converting clear goal-scoring opportunities on more than one occasion.
After the game, Foster was asked to assess his side’s performance, and he seemed happy and comfortable with the draw, as it isn’t everyday a team comes to Old Trafford and leaves without losing.
However, he also claimed he didn’t have to do much despite the pressure from Manchester United.
“I did not have a lot to do, to be fair,” he said during a post-match press conference.
“I had one save in the first half, a few bits and bobs here and there, but I have got to say fair play to the lads in front of me, they were absolutely fantastic.
“They were getting in front of shots, getting in front of crosses, winning headers, all that kind of stuff, it was nice to see.
“It is not very often you come to Old Trafford and get to keep a clean sheet so we can be happy with ourselves.”
United had 22 attempts at goal against the Hornets, and it’s still a surprise to many we didn’t at least, score one.
