Report: World-class Man United star to be rewarded with new deal after fine form
Manchester United are finalising plans to rewarded David de Gea with a new deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The deal will reportedly be discussed in the coming months of 2022, as the Red Devils aim to keep their best players ahead of the coming season.
De Gea has been excellent for United this term, and perhaps few will argue he has been our best player so far.
The Spain International has re-established himself as the club’s number one goalkeeper, after fighting off competition from Dean Henderson last season.
The shotstopper’s current deal runs until 2023, although there’s an option to extend for a further year.
De Gea is also United’s second highest paid star, only behind Cristiano Ronaldo, with a weekly salary of £375,000.
It remains to be seen what this will mean for Henderson, who is desperate for regular first team football.
