Mason Greenwood has been axed from Football Manager 2022, amid the sexual assault scandal currently surrounding his career.

The game’s Main Winter Update database was recently released, and it shows the Manchester United forward has been removed.

The development comes weeks after Greenwood’s girlfriend, Harriet Robson accused him of sexual abuse with graphic evidence, which she shared on her Instagram. 

While speaking on the matter, a Sports Interactive spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News: “Any player serving an indefinite suspension from football has been removed in the latest update. If and when that suspension is lifted, the player will be reinstated.”

Greenwood remains suspended from first team activities at Man United, while investigations continue on the case.
