Report: Player’s future in doubt as Man United draw up plans to sign world-class centre-back
According to reports, the future of Manchester United’s centre-back Harry Maguire may be in doubt, as the club is drawing up plans to sign a world-class centre-back to partner Raphael Varane.
The Manchester United skipper has endured a difficult season, and even faced criticisms for some shambolic displays last season.
Maguire has always been a regular for Manchester United, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick – and reports on Thursday claimed his teammates have been questioning his regular status in the team.
United players have been ‘privately airing grievances’ over Maguire’s ‘undroppable’ status, despite his poor performances at times.
According to the Daily Mail, the club’s football director John Murtough is making plans to sign a world-class centre-back this summer, and Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, who’s set to be a free agent at the end of the season, is top of the list.
