Manchester City defeated Manchester United 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium, as Ralf Rangnick’s put in another disappointing show.

Despite being part of recent trainings, Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo and also Edinson Cavani were missing from the squad to face City. Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw also missed the squad.

Explaining why they missed the game, Rangnick told MUTV: “Rapha Varane and Luke Shaw tested positive with Covid unfortunately in midweek.

“Edi [Cavani] trained well in the last three days but, at the end, didn’t feel quite well enough to be able to play.

“And Cristiano had some problems with his hip flexor on Friday and since then he didn’t train.”
