Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has revealed he expects Cristiano Ronaldo to be fit for Saturday’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo was a shock omission from last weekend’s Manchester derby with what Rangnick described as a hip flexor injury, but flew straight to Portugal amid speculation he would have been on the bench anyway.
It has cast further doubt over the 37-year-old’s future at United just seven months after he returned to the club from Juventus.
“He (Ronaldo) resumed training yesterday,” said Rangnick.
“He trained well the whole training session and I expect him to train today. I would have thought he will be available tomorrow.
“I haven’t asked him if he’s happy at this club. He’s fit again, resumed training yesterday and we shall see which formation we will line up with tomorrow.”
