Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brilliant hat-trick to inspire Manchester United to a vital 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte highlighted Ronaldo’s five goals in the Champions League group stage as an example of his ability to produce when it really matters and believes his Tottenham Hotspur players didn’t do enough to stop Ronaldo.
“I remember very well the Champions League group for Manchester United and he was decisive to go to the next round,” Conte said.
“He’s a player who feels this type of game. Tonight we didn’t discover him. A great compliment to him because to arrive at this age with this form and mentality and this desire to win you have to give all the great compliments to your opponent.”
