Ralf Rangnick reveals his genius plan to make Cristiano Ronaldo score a hat-trick every game

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick in the 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has joked he would send Ronaldo to Portugal every week to ensure he keeps scoring hat-tricks for the club.

There was a lot of talk over Ronaldo’s unsanctioned trip to Portugal after missing the 4-1 loss to Manchester City last weekend but the forward responded to the criticism with a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur.

Rangnick told Sky Sports: “We were just joking and maybe it makes sense to send him [Cristiano Ronaldo] to Portugal for three days.

“Then have him not training for two days, then have him back training on Thursday, do that every week if that’s the way he performs.

“Maybe we’ll have to do that for the rest of the season.”
