Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone seems to have done his research ahead of the Champions League round of 16 clash with Manchester United.

Both teams played out a 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium a fortnight ago, and a winner must emerge at Old Trafford.

Simeone is expecting a tough battle in the middle of the park, and expects Manchester United to start the game with a lot of energy.

According to the Atletico Madrid boss, Atletico will try to hurt United on the counter.

Speaking to Marca, Simeone talked about how the midfield battle will be key in the match.

He said: “Because of their characteristics in midfield, and ours in that area, it will be a dynamic game.

“There will be high pressure from them at the start and we will try to take advantage of the counter attack.”
