Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone guided his side to a 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Renan Lodi’s first half strike was enough for Atletico to win this tie, and sealed a 2-1 aggregate victory for the visitors.
Towards the end of the game, Manchester United players and fans were already frustrated with the antics of the Atletico Madrid players.
Immediately after the final whistle, Madrid boss Simeone ran off to celebrate in the dressing room, much to the anger of the Manchester United supporters who threw objects at him as he ran off to the tunnel.
Former Tottenham man Jamie O’Hara has said that United fans should be punished for what they did.
“Manchester United fans, some of you should be ashamed of yourselves throwing things at the manager as he’s trying to run down the tunnel,” he told talkSPORT.
“Unacceptable, you should be banned and more needs to be done with this because I’m sick of seeing it.
“Since we’ve come back from COVID with fans back in the ground, I don’t know why all of a sudden that fans think they can throw things at players, at managers.
“It’s not good enough, it’s not acceptable and it’s got to stop. There needs to be harsher punishments because I’m seeing it way too much.”
