Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone guided his side to a 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Atletico put in a disciplined performance and frustrated Manchester United players and fans with their antics.

Renan Lodi’s first half strike was enough for Atletico to win this tie, and sealed a 2-1 aggregate victory for the visitors.

Immediately after the final whistle, Madrid boss Simeone ran off to celebrate in the dressing room, much to the anger of the Manchester United supporters who threw objects at him as he ran off to the tunnel.

Surprisingly, Simeone claimed he didn’t notice anything.

Asked if he was aware of the missiles thrown by angry United supporters, Simeone said: “No, when I came off the pitch, I ran because I was happy and I like to enjoy it in the dressing room.

“So I don’t know what happened. What you just said, all I was thinking about was getting into the changing room to the dressing room, and I was really happy.”
