According to Daily Mail, Newcastle United are interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson this summer.

Newcastle’s no.1 goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has been one of the club’s most consistent performers but Newcastle want increased competition across key areas ahead of next season as they build their new project.

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga along with Arsenal’s Bernd Leno and West Bromwich Albion’s Sam Johnstone are also on their summer transfer shortlist.

Newcastle tried to sign Henderson in January on loan but the deal would have seen Dubravka go in the opposite direction but the 33-year-old Slovakian was reluctant to move to Manchester United as cover for David de Gea.

After missing out on a move to Newcastle United in January, Henderson remains keen on joining Eddie Howe’s side this summer.
