Manchester United reportedly boast four of the top five earners in the Premier League, despite our struggles to finish in the top four this season.

Top French newspaper L’Equipe released their list of the top five earners in the Premier League on Tuesday and four Manchester United players made the list.

As expected, Cristiano Ronaldo is the best paid Premier League player with the Portugal international taking home £2.2million every month or £26.4million per year.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is the second highest earner in the Premier League with a monthly take home of £1.7million (£20.4million per year).

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is the third highest earner in the Premier League with a salary of £1.6m per month (£19.2m a year) while Jadon Sancho is the fourth highest earner in the Premier League with a salary of £1.5million per month (£18million).

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane rounds out the top five with his £1.3m monthly wage (£15.6m per year).

Despite spending big on salaries, Manchester United will go five seasons without a trophy at the end of this campaign.
