Manchester United legend denies he has put himself forward to be Erik ten Hag’s assistant at Manchester United

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has denied reports that he has put himself forward to be Manchester United’s assistant manager under Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United are edging closer to confirming the appointment of Ajax manager Erik ten Hag to replace current interim boss Ralf Rangnick after interviewing the Dutchman for the job on Monday.

Reports claim Manchester United is exploring bringing in a former player to become ten Hag’s assistant manager next season with another report claiming Ferdinand has put himself forward.

However, it was also reported that the United hierarchy are not convinced by Rio Ferdinand with van Persie under consideration.

Ferdinand has now taken to Twitter to deny the reports.

Ferdinand said: “Who’s feeding you this sh*t! Put myself forward yanoooooo.”
