Manchester United did not appoint a manager – Ex United defender slams Ralf Rangnick’s appointment
Former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam has criticised Manchester United’s decision to appoint Ralf Rangnick as interim manager.
According to Stam, United should have gone ahead to appoint a Head coach rather than one who was serving as a technical director.
“I don’t know what development vector the management of Manchester United sees in the future,” Stam told Betting Expert.
“I think after the dismissal of Solskjaer they could try to immediately appoint a new permanent coach, and not a temporary one.
“Why did Manchester United appoint Rangnick, who was technical director in Russia, as a coach? It looks like this: other German coaches are doing well in the Premier League, so we also need a German specialist. I don’t think Ralf will coach the team next season.”
