Explained: Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence for Leicester City clash
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t make the team to face Leicester City.
The 37-year-old didn’t report to The Lowry Hotel with the rest of the squad on Friday night, and would sit out the game against the Foxes.
According to The Athletic, Ronaldo’s absence from the crunch meeting with the Foxes is due to illness.
Ronaldo did feature in both of Portugal’s playoff wins against Turkey and North Macedonia but returned sick to Carrington after helping Portugal qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
