Erik ten Hag explains to Man Utd board why he wants to live close to Pep Guardiola
Manchester United confirmed last Thursday that Ajax boss Erik ten Hag will take over from interim manager Ralf Rangnick as the new Manchester United boss at the end of the season.
Ten Hag signed a three year contract with Manchester United with an option to extend for another year.
Following his appointment as Manchester United manager, Ten Hag has stunned the Manchester United board by revealing his choice of where to live in the city.
Ten Hag has declined to leave in the area where most millionaires and superstar footballers choose to live and has instead told the board he wants to live in the city centre so he can have a connection with the fans, according to Marca.
Among the places he is considering is the 16-storey building at Deansgate CitySuites, which is home to Pep Guardiola, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva.
On the Salford side of the river Irwell, that area is traditionally full of Manchester United fans.
Ten Hag would become the first Manchester United since before Sir Alex Ferguson to live in the city centre permanently, not including Jose Mourinho’s long-term stay at The Lowry Hotel.
