Pep Guardiola wants to disorganise Erik ten Hag’s transfer plans by making move for this key transfer target
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is ready to disorganise Erik ten Hag’s transfer plans for Manchester United this summer by making a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, according to Daily Mail.
Manchester City, who have been gazumped by United in recent years for Alexis Sanchez and Cristiano Ronaldo, are ready to back Pep Guardiola in the transfer market and dent Ten Hag’s impact at Old Trafford following his appointment last week.
Guardiola reportedly want Rice to replace Manchester City captain Fernandinho, who will leave the Premier League champions at the end of the season.
It’s understood that Manchester City have already requested to be kept informed of Rice’s future plans and made it clear they are a viable destination.
It’s yet to be seen if Manchester City will match West Ham’s £150million valuation of Rice after refusing to match the £150million asking price demanded by Tottenham for Harry Kane believing the price was inflated.
Guardiola reportedly believes Rice would be enticed by the prospect of challenging for trophies at Manchester City than having to help rebuild a Manchester United team which needs ‘open-heart surgery’ according to interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
