Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot believes the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday was an ‘unfair’ result.
Speaking to MUTV after the match, Dalot said he didn’t think the scoreline reflected the contest. He said: “The result was unfair but that’s part of the game.
“Of course, at the end of the match we can say that we had many chances and that we could have won, but I think that after this difficult season we can’t just talk about bad luck or bad decisions from referees. I think we have to look at ourselves and try to understand how we can change the course of things.”
The 23-year-old said he understood the disappointment of the travelling supporters and called on the team to learn from the loss.
He added: “I think it’s a lesson, to be honest. I totally understand the frustration of the fans, especially those who travelled from so far away to watch the game.
“I think this is a lesson for all of us. We need to mature more as a team, we need to be more of a team.”
