“He is someone I look up to” – Anthony Elanga hails special Manchester United player that gives him advice
Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga has admitted he looks up to ‘special’ Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo.
Elanga told Manchester United’s official website: “You can see his record and the amount of goals he’s scored.
“He know what it takes to get to the top so it’s more than right to just speak to someone like that. And yeah, we have a chat the day before or even during a game. You might see us in the warm-up.
“He’ll speak to me and (Jadon) Sancho together about what we can do in the game, to affect the games – and it’s important to have someone like that in the team.
“He is someone I look up to and speak to and ask for advice and stuff. He is a special player to work with.”
Former Premier League midfielder Joe Cole has hailed Ronaldo for his brilliant performances despite Manchester United’s struggles this season.
Cole told Coral: “Ronaldo will score goals. If you put him in front of goal in ten years’ time, he’ll still put it away. He is just an incredible player who is no doubt one of the greatest of all time.
“There’s no cohesion at all in this Manchester United team, so the fact he is still managing to score goals is a credit to him.
“I would imagine Manchester United not winning a trophy is not good enough for him, because no matter how many goals he has scored, he’s such a winner.”
