Revealed: Manchester United’s Player of the Month for April – De Gea, Ronaldo or Matic
Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for April after scoring five goals in four games in the month of April.
It’s a second consecutive Manchester United Player of the Month award for Ronaldo after he won the award in the month of March.
In the month of April, Ronaldo scored a superb hat-trick in Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Norwich. He also scored in the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal and the 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Thursday.
Ronaldo’s competitors for the accolade were Nemanja Matic and David De Gea, but he emerged as the clear winner with 74 per cent of the vote.
Matic received 5 per cent of the votes after providing the assists for Ronaldo’s goals against Arsenal and Chelsea while De Gea received a significant 21 per cent after several demonstrations of goalkeeping heroics home and away.
Ronaldo’s goal against Arsenal was his 100th in the Premier League, and that made him one of four players in the last two decades to score a century in two of Europe’s big-five leagues, having also achieved the feat in La Liga.
Congratulations Ronaldo.
