“Many things can happen” – Aurelien Tchouameni breaks silence on his future amid interest from Manchester United
Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has opened the door to leaving the French club this summer, amid interest from Manchester United.
New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly interested in signing the 22 year old midfielder because he feels the Frenchman would give United’s midfield some much needed energy and legs.
Tchouameni is also wanted by Premier League rivals Liverpool and while the France international is open to staying at Monaco, he says there’s no guarantees over what can happen in the transfer window.
“I have a contract with Monaco until 2024, with an option until 2025, we’ll see what the future holds,” said Tchouaméni.
“In the transfer windows, many things can happen. There is my case and that of other players, some at the end of their contracts, others who have interest in other places. We are focused on Lille.
“We’re going on vacation, and we’ll see when we get back, who they’ll be when we get back. Why not stay and play the Champions League?
“The elimination in the previous round against Shakhtar got stuck in my throat. Playing the Champions League with Monaco is not something that displeases me.”
