“What is certain is that this is my last season at United”: Manchester United star issues update on his future
Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has issued an update on his future as he nears his exit from the club.
The Serbian midfielder will leave United for free at the end of the season after five years at the club and has been linked with a number of different clubs in the summer window.
Matic insists he is keeping his options open as he nears the end of his Manchester United contract.
“The options are still open,” he told K1 Televizija. “But what is certain is that this is my last season at United and I want to finish it in the best possible way.
“We have another game on May 22, and after that I will make a decision where I will continue my career.”
According to Daily Star, Matic will join Italian club Juventus at the end of the season as a free agent.
Matic will earn around £90,000 a week at Juventus and a signing-on fee of £10million.
Matic confirmed in April that he will leave Manchester United at the end of the season.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Matic said: “After a great deal of thought, I have decided that this season will be my last with Manchester United. I have informed the board, the manager and the players of my decision.
“It has been a huge honour and a privilege to play for this great club. A big thank you to the fans for their unwavering support.
“I will now give everything until the end of the season to help my teammates finish as strongly as possible.”
