Manchester United transfer target believes he can earn £400,000 a week at Manchester United
Manchester United transfer target Declan Rice reportedly believes he can earn up to £400,000 weekly if he moves to Manchester United.
West Ham recently offered the 23 year old midfielder an eight year contract worth £200,000 a week which he rejected.
Rice, who is valued at around £150million by West Ham, believes he can earn even bigger wages than he is being offered at West Ham if he seals a transfer away from the club this summer.
The England international has become one of the Hammers’ most important players, and also one of the top midfielders in Europe after his remarkable rise in the last few years.
One thing is certain, Rice doesn’t see himself at West Ham long-term after rejecting three contract offers from the London side.
Meanwhile, former Premier League striker Jermaine Defoe has claimed Rice reminds him of Manchester United legend Micheal Carrick.
“The way he’s playing and what he (Declan Rice) has, he reminds me of Michael Carrick a little bit,” Defoe said speaking to Sky Sports. “The way he handles the ball, what he’s got more than Carrick had was driving forward and getting the team forward more.
“He said before (that) he’s a massive Yaya Toure fan, you can tell, the way Yaya used to run through the middle. He’s got all the attributes but you need to add goals – he probably knows that.
“He’s someone who wants to work on that game, he seems a top boy and a good character. For me, he’s got everything to go right to the top.”
