According to a report on The Express, Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is willing to ‘quit’ the club if he is not Manchester United no.1 next season.
After a successful loan spell at Sheffield United, Henderson returned to Manchester United last season and became the club’s no.1 goalkeeper in the second-half of last season.
However, David de Gea claimed back his spot as Manchester United’s no.1 goalkeeper this season with Henderson making just three appearances for Manchester United this season.
Henderson, who earns £120,000 weekly at Manchester United, is reportedly prepared to leave the club this summer if new Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag doesn’t assure him that he would be first-choice goalkeeper next season.
Newcastle United were keen on signing Henderson on loan in January and are prepared to step up their interest in the 25 year old goalkeeper when the summer transfer window opens.
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe reportedly sees Henderson as the ideal candidate to succeed Martin Dubravka at St James’ Park. Given that Manchester United would need to sign a direct replacement for the 25 year old goalkeeper, the Red Devils are likely to demand a fair fee for Henderson’s services.
