Jesse Lingard chooses his preferred destination ahead of his Manchester United exit

Manchester United star Jesse Lingard is set to leave the club at the end of the season when his Manchester United contract expires.

Several Premier League clubs and Italian clubs are interested in signing the 29 year old Manchester United attacking midfielder as a free agent this summer.

Reports in Italy suggest Lingard would prefer to stay in the Premier League this summer, despite interest from Serie A.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti via Manchester Evening News has suggested AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma are all interested in the England international.

Lingard though is said to have expressed a preference to stay in England, with Newcastle and West Ham his most likely options.

Meanwhile, former Premier League defender Jonathan Woodgate has urged Lingard to join Newcastle United.

Woodgate told BritishGambler.co.uk: “I think if he comes to Newcastle he will be the big fish, and he’s not the big fish at Man United. If he goes he will be one of the main men, and that might help him.

“I like him and think he has great qualities, and great attitude. He will want to prove a few people wrong. He’s only started two games this season and he hasn’t had a fair crack of the whip this season. If you look how bad Man United have been, has he had a fair crack at it? I don’t think so!”
