Erik ten Hag sets minimum target for Manchester United players next season. He won’t accept anything less
New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed the minimum he expects from his Manchester United players next season.
Ten Hag insists finishing in the top four is the minimum target for Manchester United next after the Red Devils finished outside the top four this season.
He said: “That’s a must. The goal is to make Manchester United Europe-proof again, like we did with Ajax, reaching the Champions League with Manchester United is a prerequisite.”
Ten Hag was confirmed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanent successor last month and is set to take over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick after Sunday’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
The 52 year old Dutchman will watch from the stands on Sunday as United finish what has been a torrid season at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.
Whatever the outcome, United will finish the season with our lowest ever Premier League points tally. The Red Devils could even play Europa Conference League football next season if we fail to beat Crystal Palace and West Ham beat Brighton on Sunday.
With the likes of Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic set to depart this summer, Ten Hag must sign the right replacements this summer.
