Newcastle United reveal condition for signing Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard
Jesse Lingard will be a free agent at the end of the season and he is attracting interest from Premier League side Newcastle United.
According to Daily Mail, Newcastle United have told Lingard that they won’t sign him unless he reduces his wage demands.
The England international is supposedly demanding £150,000-a-week, plus a huge signing-on fee to join the Magpies this summer.
The 29-year-old, who scored 35 goals in 232 appearances for United, will leave the Red Devils this summer when his contract expires, but it is not looking like he’ll be heading to the north east.
Despite their interest in signing Lingard, Newcastle United are unwilling to pay what they believe is an excessive fee and wage demand to sign Lingard this summer.
Newcastle United tried to sign Lingard during the January transfer window but refused to pay the £16million loan fee demanded by United.
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe will have to look at other options if Lingard doesn’t reduce his demands as the owners of Newcastle United are unwilling to pay excessive fees or wages in order to bolster their squad.
Lingard is expected to have plenty of options with AC Milan, PSG and West Ham all also showing interest in recent weeks.
