Paul Pogba is one of the world’s best players – Wojciech Szczesny
Juventus goalkeeper and former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has hailed Paul Pogba as ‘one of the world’s best players’ ahead the Frenchman’s potential return to Juventus this summer.
Pogba will leave Manchester United for the second time in his career when his contract expires on June 30th and he is set to join Juventus.
The Frenchman joined Manchester United from Juventus for a then world record transfer fee of £89million but failed to live up to expectations at Manchester United.
According to The Sun, when asked if he and his team-mates would welcome the Frenchman’s addition to the squad, Szczesny said: “I’d be delighted to see that happen. He did brilliantly in his previous time at Juventus so he would be a great addition to the squad.
“He is a player with good calibre and experience and he has good memories from Turin.
“Maybe over the last couple of years the consistency of his game and the injuries didn’t help at United. But when he is fit, he is still one of the best in the world.”
Juventus are understood to be confident of making the deal happen, but if things fall through Paris Saint-Germain remain in the wings, with fellow European giants Real Madrid and Manchester City also said to have been previously interested.
Pogba will walk away with a £3.78million loyalty bonus when he quits Manchester as a free agent at the end of the month.
