Manchester United have had our first offer for Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong rejected by Barcelona, according to ESPN.

Barcelona have reportedly told Manchester United that they will only listen to offers worth €100million for Frenkie de Jong.

While Barcelona are prepared to let De Jong leave this summer to help balance the books amid an ongoing financial crisis at the club, the Spanish side insists they won’t sell De Jong on the cheap.

ESPN also adds that the Spanish side are willing to negotiate the structure of the fee, such as how much of the price is upfront and how much is in add-ons, but they want the total package to be around €100m.

Barcelona signed De Jong from Ajax for an initial €75million in the summer of 2019.

Manchester United offered Barcelona €60m plus €20m in potential add-ons for the transfer of Frenkie de Jong.

De Jong is a key transfer target for Manchester United this summer following the the departures of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.

It isn’t yet known if Manchester United will increase the offer for De Jong.

Meanwhile, this Manchester United star has claimed Manchester United fans don’t love him.
