Bruno Fernandes has hailed Juan Mata as the Spaniard gets set to depart Manchester United.

Juan Mata will leave Manchester United as a free agent at the end of June when his Manchester United contract expires.

Fernandes wrote: “One legend, magician, mentor and a true friend!

“I couldn’t be more lucky to find someone to look for and learn in this beginning at @ManUtd and the @premierleague.

“Was a pleasure to play alongside with you, but more than that was amazing after this time having you as a friend.

“I want to wish you all the best in the future, because you deserve nothing less than the best.

“This is not a goodbye letter because you know that you have to come back and have a cappuccino and croissants with your friends. Legend.”

Manchester United signed Mata from Chelsea for a then-club record £37.1million in January 2014 and the Spaniard won three trophies at Old Trafford.

The 34-year-old started in the 2016 FA Cup final victory, as well as the 2017 League Cup and Europa League final triumphs.

Mata contributed 51 goals and 47 assists in 284 appearances at United and he made his last start against Crystal Palace.
