Premier League side Brentford have confirmed the departures of five first team players, including Manchester United target Christian Eriksen.

Christian Eriksen joined Brentford in January on a short-term contract until the end of the season and will be a free agent at the end of June.

Brentford are desperate to retain Eriksen for next season following his impressive performances since joining in January but face stiff competition from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Eriksen made 11 appearances for the Bees after his January arrival, scoring once and laying on four assists as he helped Thomas Frank’s side climb the table.

On Eriksen’s future, Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: “It is no secret that we would love Christian to remain at Brentford for more seasons, and we will continue to discuss that possibility with him and his representatives.”
