27 year old Joshua Kimmich has admitted he will be open to leaving Bayern Munich for a move outside Germany amid reports Manchester United are keen on signing a midfielder.
Joshua Kimmich is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest midfielders but has spent his entire career playing in Germany, first playing for RB Leipzig for two years before joining Bayern in 2015.
Kimmich has enjoyed great success since joining Bayern Munich as a teenager, winning seven Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokal crowns and the Champions League.
“That would be an interesting challenge. I don’t know what will happen in a few years, we’ll see,” Kimmich said in an interview with So Foot.
“I have a very good coach who is an advocate of attractive football. I have a lot of fun here, but somewhere in my head there is always this professional and personal challenge of one day reaching new horizons to discover.”
Kimmich is a key player at Bayern Munich and it’s difficult to see the 27 year old leave the German champions for a Manchester United side that will play Europa League football next season.
Joshua Kimmich has made 300 appearances for Bayern Munich in the last seven years, either in midfield or as a utility defender.
Kimmich is also a regular for Germany, reaching 66 caps and four goals for the nation since his 2016 debut.
For now, Kimmich isn’t a target for Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag but who knows what might just happen if a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong collapses.
De Jong is a priority transfer target for Manchester United but Manchester United are yet to reach an agreement with Barcelona.
Manchester United have seen a €70million rejected by Barcelona with the Spanish side demanding for €100million.
