Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho can’t just stop winning.
Alejandro Garnacho’s performances for Argentina U20s has been rewarded after a stellar showing at the Maurice Revello Tournament.
After announcing his allegiance to Argentina, despite being born in Spain, the teenager has wasted little time in making a big impression with the South American nation.
After a breakout season in Manchester United’s academy in which he made his first-team debut, won the club’s highly-regarded Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award and led our under-18 side to the club’s first FA Youth Cup victory since 2011, he has now added to this with accolades on the international stage.
Having finished the Maurice Revello Tournament, previously known as the Toulon Tournament, with four goals in four games, Alejandro Garnacho has been voted the Revelation of the Tournament.
Garnacho’s superb free-kick against hosts France also landed the Goal of the Tournament award.
France lifted the trophy for the 13th time, after beating Venezuela 2-1 in the final. Nathanael Mbuku, who plays for Stade Reims, hit the late winner.
Garnacho’s Argentina could only finish fifth despite his impressive performances for Javier Mascherano’s side.
Despite playing in a position which Manchester United are currently stacked in on the left side of attack, Alejandro Garnacho is giving Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag a nice headache ahead of pre-season.
The likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho will definitely have an eye on the progress of the teenager as he could push them to the substitute bench next season if they don’t improve their form.
It’s definitely been a season to remember for the 17 year old Manchester United youngster.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed Manchester United are set to offer the 17 year old Argentine a new contract.
Romano tweeted: “Manchester United are working on new deal for the Argentinian talent Alejandro Garnacho. Talks already started to get things done by this year.
“Man Utd plan is to offer a five year deal as Garnacho is considered a huge talent.”
