Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior rejected advances from Manchester United before signing his new Real Madrid contract, according to Spanish media outlet Marca.

The Brazil international is set to sign a new four-year deal with Real Madrid that will put him on level terms with the club’s top earners.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the contract extension is ‘done and sealed’ and will be officially announced in July.

Vinicius Junior’s new Real Madrid contract will reportedly have a release clause of €1billion.

Before his contract extension with Real Madrid, Vinicius Junior was one of the lowest-paid players at Real Madrid and Manchester United approached him with a better pay package to leave Real Madrid for Manchester United.

Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Chelsea also approached the Real Madrid forward.

However, according to Marca, Vinicius Junior told his agent he wasn’t willing to listen to offers from other clubs and only want to stay at Real Madrid.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain reportedly advised Vinicius Junior against renewing his contract with Real Madrid and offered a contract worth 40 times his current Real Madrid contract.

Vinicius Junior currently earns around €4million yearly and was offered a contract of €40million yearly by PSG, which he rejected.

The offer from Manchester United wasn’t revealed.

Vinicius Junior’s new Real Madrid contract is worth €10million yearly and will be officially signed in July.

Meanwhile, Dutch journalist Marcel Van Der Kraan has claimed Ajax defender Jurrien Timber is no longer interested in joining Manchester United this summer.

Van Der Kraan told Sky Sports: “Absolutely dead (the deal) in the water.

“The player was ready to come. The player’s agents were in London at Manchester United’s offices two weeks ago.

“The talks were very good, money was never a problem but then Louis van Gaal turned up and told the player in the Dutch camp ‘if you go there I think your chances could be limited for playing for Holland in the World Cup’.”
