According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are currently in talks to sign Hoffenheim left-back David Raum.

Talks between Manchester United and German side Hoffenheim are reportedly going on well but there is still a long way to go for both sides to reach an agreement, which would ‘probably’ be between €30m and €35m.

Manchester United’s interest in Raum comes after a stellar individual season for the 24 year old left-back

Manchester United face competition from Premier League rivals West Ham and Newcastle United for Raum.

Borussia Dortmund are also interested in signing the Germany international but will have to sell players before they enter the transfer market.

Raum is one of the best left-backs in Europe currently and the huge interest in the left-back across Europe is no surprise.

The 24-year-old registered the most crosses into the box of any player in Europe’s top five leagues, and managed 13 assists in the Bundesliga last season.

Following the poor form of Luke Shaw and Alex Telles last season, it’s no surprise Manchester United are interested in signing 24 year old Raum from Hoffenheim.

Raum’s deal at the German side runs up in 2026 but Hoffenheim will know it will be difficult to hold onto the Germany international following his impressive performances all season.

Manchester United are also interested in Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia.

The Feyenoord defender is described as a “pitbull” by fans in Holland due to his tenacious tackles.

Ten Hag tried to sign the 22 year old left-back as Ajax boss last summer but a move for the Feyenoord left-back failed to materialise.

Ten Hag believes he can finally sign the 22 year old left-back now he’s Manchester United manager.

Malacia is comfortable on the ball, possesses blistering pace – and has a tackle so tenacious that he has become a cult hero at the club he joined as a nine-year-old schoolboy.

Malacia’s impressive performances for Feyenoord has seen him break into the Louis van Gaal’s Holland squad and he is set to go to the World Cup in Qatar next winter.
