Manchester United look all set to sign Christian Eriksen with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur no longer interested in signing the midfielder.

According to Football London, Tottenham Hotspur have not followed up their interest over a free transfer for Eriksen, which has handed a boost to Manchester United.

The report claims Tottenham Hotspur made contact with Eriksen’s agent a couple of weeks ago but have not followed that up since.

Everton, Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham, Brentford have also reportedly enquired about signing Eriksen as well as Ajax and one unnamed La Liga side.

Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘suddenly distancing themselves’ from a move for Eriksen after signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton.

With Tottenham Hotspur now out of the race for Eriksen, Manchester United look all set to sign the Denmark international.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano have also confirmed Tottenham Hotspur are no longer interested in a move for Eriksen.

According to Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are focused instead on signing a right-back, centre-back and a striker this summer after signing three players already.

Eriksen is expected to make a decision on his future soon, Romano also revealed.

Eriksen recently confirmed he will not rush a decision on his future this summer.

“No, and they know that too,” Eriksen told reporters, as per Bold.dk.

“There are many criteria and many different things inside such a decision. Sometimes it goes fast in football, other times a little slower.

“You are not in control of it yourself. I have to make the best decision and not rush anything through.

“My phone stays on, but I also know my agent well enough to know that he only calls if there’s something exciting.”

Eriksen, speaking to Viaplay, said: “I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision.

“I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me.”
