Paul Pogba has finally revealed what ruined his relationship with former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

In his first summer as Manchester United boss, Mourinho signed Pogba from Juventus for a then world record transfer fee of £89million.

After winning the Europa League and League Cup in their first season together, Pogba and Mourinho fell out in their second season together at Manchester United.

According to Pogba, his relationship with Mourinho was ruined after Mourinho had questioned his injury when he had headed to Miami for a rehabilitation programme.

“It started when I got injured. I said I was going to Miami to do rehabilitation,” the 29-year-old says on his new Amazon Prime Video documentary series Pogmentary.

“A paparazzi took a photo of Zulay [Pogba’s wife] and me. Jose sent the picture to Mino [Raiola]. I didn’t like that at all. He said he’s on holiday when we are working like [expletive].

“I told Mourinho are you serious? I’m injured. I train three times a day here. Who do you think I am? It was new to me to have an issue with my coach.”

The incident happened in September 2017 after Pogba suffered a thigh injury which saw him miss 12 games for Manchester United.

Former Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick also had issues with Pogba leaving the country for rehab when injured.

When the German took over last December, the former Juventus midfielder was once again injured and away from the club trying to recover, this time in Dubai.

On the matter, Rangnick said, “My former clubs were always trying to make sure the rehab should take place in the club itself.

“As far as I can tell the medical department is really good, very good, with many different approaches towards rehab.

“I would not want players to do their rehab abroad or anywhere else but the decision on Paul was taken before I came.

“In the future, I have already spoken to the medical department – to Steve [McNally] our doctor, to Robin Sadler – that in the future I want players with injuries, and hopefully we don’t get long-term injuries, but if we have them in the future I want them to stay here.”
