Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is considering leaving the club this summer due to the lack of successful transfer activity, according to a report on Daily Mail.

The 37 year old forward returned to Manchester United last summer, twelve years after leaving the club for Real Madrid for a then world record transfer fee.

Despite scoring 24 goals for Manchester United in all competitions last season, the Red Devils struggled to a sixth-placed Premier League finish.

Following the appointment of Erik ten Hag as Manchester United boss, key signings were expected to made by the club this summer but the Red Devils have struggled to make any signing so far.

Manchester United are yet to agree a transfer fee with Barcelona for key transfer target Frenkie de Jong.

For a player expected to play a key role in Ten Hag’s Manchester United, it was expected Manchester United should have signed De Jong by now.

The Red Devils were interested in signing Darwin Nunez but the former Benfica striker left for rivals Liverpool instead.

Christian Eriksen is yet to accept the offer made by Manchester United and it could be because he is waiting to see the players that Manchester United sign this summer.

Antony is eager to join Manchester United this summer but so far, the Red Devils are yet to reach an agreement with Ajax for the transfer of the Brazilian forward.

It was believed Jurrien Timber was close to joining Manchester United but the Ajax centre-back has now made a U-turn and will stay at Ajax instead.

Derby youngster Malcolm Ebiowei has reportedly spurned Manchester United in favour of Crystal Palace.

According to Daily Mail, Ronaldo is frustrated by Manchester United’s lack of progress in the transfer market and is ready to quit the club if no progress is made in the coming weeks.

Ronaldo reportedly issued the club an ultimatum – “up your game or I’ll leave”.

Ronaldo is said to have informed his inner circle that a continued lack of transfers at Manchester United would see him start looking for another club.

Ronaldo had previously told Manchester United website: “What I know about (ten Hag) is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach. But we need to give him time.

“Things need to change the way he wants. I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.

“We are happy and excited, not only as players, but the supporters as well. I wish him the best and let’s believe that, next year, we are going to win trophies.”
