Manchester United star Harry Maguire wedded his childhood sweetheart Fern Hawkins in a private ceremony at a luxury French chateau in front of family and friends.
Maguire shared a sweet picture from the nuptials today on his Instagram page.
In a heartfelt caption, Harry, 29, said the nuptials were “a day I’ll never forget”.
Maguire arrived in Burgundy on a £50,000 private jet with around 30 family and friends for the wedding.
Harry’s sister Daisy, 21, was maid of honour for the Maguire wedding, while his brothers Laurence, 25, and Joe, 30, also jetted in.
“Harry wanted everything to be perfect for their big day,” said a source. “It was for close family and friends, and there was no expense spared.”
The couple announced their engagement in 2018 during a romantic trip to Paris.
The Maguires have since had two children; Lillie Saint, who was born in April 2019, and Piper Rose, who was born in May 2020.
Science and physiotherapy graduate Fern first met Harry when he was 18 and playing for Sheffield United’s youth team.
Fern has often been snapped cheering on her now-husband during England matches.
The couple exchanged vows at a register office in Crewe, Cheshire, last month to provide them with a UK marriage certificate….but regard the French ceremony as their ‘wedding day’.
Maguire joined Manchester United for £80million in 2019 from Premier League side Leicester City.
