Manchester United have reached an agreement with Dutch club Feyenoord for the transfer of Dutch international left-back Tyrell Malacia.

This has been confirmed by Feyenoord director Frank Arnesen.

“The agreement with Man United is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell,” Arnesen tells @1908nl.

“If Malacia says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent.”

Malacia was close to joining Lyon after the French club reached an agreement with Feyenoord but Manchester United have now hijacked the transfer.

Malacia shares the same agent as Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong and the Red Devils told the agent of the club’s interest after reaching an agreement to sign De Jong.

Lyon had agreement with Feyenoord to sign Malacia for €12million guaranteed plus €3million in add-ons.

However, Manchester United are now set to hijack the transfer after reaching an agreement with Feyenoord by offering €15million guaranteed plus add-ons, according to reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester United are now in talks with the left-back and are now discussing personal terms with the 22 year old left-back.

According to Voetbal International, Manchester United reached an agreement with Feyenoord for the transfer of Malacia last night.

It will now be up to the player to decide where he wants to go, although it is believed it is ‘likely’ he will be joining Manchester United.

Barcelona midfielder De Jong, 25, is Manchester United’s top priority, with new manager Erik ten Hag desperate to sign the gifted playmaker to revamp Manchester United’s midfield.

Manchester United only wanted to move onto other signings, like Malacia, when the signing of De Jong is sorted.

And with the Red Devils almost completing the transfer of De Jong, Manchester United are now moving to other targets and have now reached an agreement to sign Malacia.

Malacia will compete with Luke Shaw for a place at left-back in the starting XI while Alex Telles will be allowed to leave Manchester United.

Dutch side Feyenoord want Chelsea left back Ian Maatsen, 20, who enjoyed a successful loan at Championship side Coventry last year, to replace Malacia.
