Manchester United legend Wes Brown is confident Manchester United youngsters will get the chance to shine under Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.

According to Brown, Ten Hag is known from his Ajax days for playing youth players and he expects the Dutch tactician to continue that philosophy at Manchester United.

The likes of Alvaro Fernandez, Alejandro Garnacho, Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal, Ethan Galbraith, Charlie Wellens and Dylan Levitt could get their chance to shine under Ten Hag during pre-season.

Speaking on MUTV, Wes Brown said: “The youngsters are going to get the chance.

“They will be the ones that come back early. I think the good thing as well [is that] the manager, he’s probably going to give them a chance.

“At Ajax, Erik Ten Hag was known historically for playing youth players, bringing youth in.

“I’m pretty sure he will understand that and he’ll want to see what they’re like in the jersey. He’ll want to see what they’re like under pressure.

“What he thinks is that they might be able to do in a team like he’s trying to produce.

“He’ll definitely give them the chances on tour, because we’re going to have to use quite a few of them because people will be coming back late.”

Meanwhile, Sporting Lisbon sporting director Hugo Viana has claimed the Portuguese club will like to sign Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, Viana admits a return to his former club is hard to see right now for Ronaldo.

Reports last week claimed Sporting Lisbon have made an approach to Ronaldo as they look to offer him a way out of Manchester United.

Ronaldo began his career at Sporting Lisbon before joining Manchester United in 2003.

Viana told Sky Sports: “I think not now – I don’t think it is possible, but you never know.

“He can decide where he goes, but you never know the future.

“I don’t want to talk about that, but he has another year on his contract so whatever he decides, let’s see.”

He added: “It is time for Man Utd to stabilise, to create a good spirit inside the club.

“I think it is not what’s happening now, but there it always time to rebuild. With Cristiano, of course, there is a player who scores 25 goals per season.”
